The M Cipher was found in a rare cipher book, likely from Colonial America. Its ancient, minimal yet intricate design was chosen as our logo for Baja Montecito, capturing Montecito’s timeless heritage.
Established in 1890
Prior to then, this coastal oasis was known by few, but that was about to change. In 1890, the Southern Pacific Railroad arrived, linking Montecito to the outside world. Since then, it has remained a serene destination for those seeking both luxury and natural beauty—a place where the mountains meet the Pacific in timeless harmony.

Long before it got its name, The Montecito Peak stood tall as the most prominent feature in our coastal mountain range. As Montecito has quietly grown and evolved, this landmark has remained unchanged — a lasting symbol of the town’s deep heritage we’re proud to call home.
